It’s been embarrassingly long since I’ve posted—please don’t tell my agent!

One reason (excuse), for not posting is the many clubs I joined. Some of them I never wished to join. Among those are: two total knee replacements; a bicep repair, a broken hip, and a broken hip that did not heal correctly and had to be replaced six weeks later. I’m bionic.

And how could I forget a cross-country move or driving across the country twice in one summer?

But some of the clubs I’ve joined are fantastic dreams come true! The most important being grandmother to a beautiful little boy.

The second dream is having signed and completed a book contract with Guideposts. It will be released fall of 2021. Details to follow.

During all these “club activities”, I experienced so much kindness. A jar of chicken soup, TSA officials being incredibly patient as I fumbled to comply from my wheelchair, offers of prayer as our daughter struggled through a long, brutal delivery, editors who with boundless graciousness kept me in line with their publication guidelines, a super sized bag of dark chocolate, congratulations from friends who will never be grandparents and yet rejoiced for me.

As we struggle to reunite, to heal, to forgive—whether it be within a parent/child relationship or within our country, may we all join the club of looking for kindness as well as extending kindness.
